The Gold Fields Act 1857 and subsequent mining legislation required Mining Wardens (in their judicial function) to keep a record of all decisions and orders made. The Mining Warden’s Register records details of each case including the case number, the date of the complaint, the names and addresses of the complainant(s) and defendant(s), the nature of the complaint and the value or amount sought and the decision and signature of the Warden.
It is not known whether any more registers in this series were created after 1944.
