This series comprises correspondence regarding the granting of the Coat of Arms and Heraldry for the Essendon and District Memorial Hospital (VA 1247). 

The series includes correspondence with the College of Arms, London and the Victorian Premier’s Office regarding the granting of approval, registration and Letters Patent of the hospital’s Coat of Arms. It also includes the original design and an explanation of the symbolism in the design elements.
