VPRS 18838 Superintendent's Reports to the Committee of Management

Full description

This series comprises volumes of reports from the Superintendent of the Bendigo Benevolent Asylum, later known as the Bendigo Benevolent Asylum and Lying-in Hospital (VA 1275). These reports were submitted to the hospital's Committee of Management for consideration at their weekly meetings. These reports covered matters relative to the responsibilities of the Superintendent and were generally concerning non-medical aspects of the institution such as financial matters and procurement of supplies and equipment. The fact that a report was submitted to the Committee of Management is noted in the minutes of the weekly meetings of the Committee of Management (VPRS 18859).

Records in custody cover 1884 - 1934, however whether there were records created outside this date range is subject to further research.
