Full description

This series comprises soundings plans created by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works.

Soundings are numerical representations of the depth of the sea floor, usually shown in rows on a map or plan. The plans all depict the Werribee and Stony Creek areas of Port Phillip Bay, focusing on hydrographic and topographic measurements of the sea floor. Some may also show relevant port infrastructure.

These records were transferred to PROV from the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum.
