Full description

This series comprises soundings plans created by the Geelong Harbor Trust Commissioners, and after it was abolished, the Port of Geelong Authority.

This is an artificial series as it contains plans from multiple recordkeeping systems, as shown by the varied control numbers used on the plans. Due to the small quantity of the plans, they have been grouped together by their recording agencies as those agencies performed largely the same functions over time.

The plans primarily depict soundings taken around Geelong, Corio Quay, and Point Wilson. Soundings are measurements of the depth of the sea floor at the time of survey. They are shown as rows of numbers on the plans corresponding to the measurement taken at each point. 

These records were transferred to PROV from the Queenscliff Maritime Museum.
