Full description

This series comprises of orders giving instructions for burial to the undertaker, including details of person being buried, funeral arrangements and the location of the grave and fees paid. Within these books, two types of orders are given, one that refers to Schedule A and another that refers to Schedule C. These schedules appear to relate to forms, the contents of which, in the instance of Schedule A, were defined in the regulations of the Cemetery Trust as published in the Victoria Government Gazette, 1 March 1895, no. 30, pp. 873-874.

Schedule A orders comprise the following information:
- register number
- name of deceased
- name of husband or father
- late address
- place from which they were brought
- occupation, number of grave, plan, section numbers
- day of funeral; hour of burial
- whether first internment in grave
- nature of disease or cause of death
- date order given for burial
- fees
- signatures

Schedule C orders are from an earlier period and comprise the following information:
