The volume in this series is an alphabetically arranged location name index to Metropolitan Station plans that were held in the custody of Victorian Railways Administration Headquarters, within tubes. It was used to identify and locate plans held within storage.

The index contains a listing of plans relating to metropolitan railway stations. At the top of each listing is the Station Name followed by Plan title, Plan number and Tube Number of each plan.

The relationship of this series with VPRS 4986/R0001 Plans of Railway Station Buildings is subject to further research.
