VPRS 18393 Railway Plan Room Location Index

Full description

The records in this series contain two Railway Plan Room Location Indexes. The records were used to find plans within the Plan Room and contain plan numbers, plan room number and description of the plan.

The first index is alphabetical by location (e.g. aircraft platform to yard buildings).

The second is by plan type and covers:

SB - Station Buildings;
SG - Station Ground;
S - Sewerage/Sanitary;
YB - Yard Buildings (Goods Sheds);
W - Workshops,
R - Rest Quarters, Institutes, Mt Buffalo Chalet;
B - Signal Boxes;
MS - Miscellaneous;
SH - Store Buildings;
AO - Railway (Head Offices) Offices;
F - Furniture, Standard Drawings;
P - Platforms, Ramps, Retaining Walls, Subways;
DR - Departmental Residences,

Researchers should be aware the second index contains list of microfilmed and destroyed plans. Where applicable, file numbers have been updated to A size paper numbering.
