VPRS 18250 Election Statistics, Reports

Full description

This series consists of reports published by the Chief Electoral Officers following the elections of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly.

The reports provide voting statistics relating to a particular election as well as a summary of provisions relating to voting qualifications and enrolment of electors, postal and absent voting and unenrolled voting. Some of the statistics in the report appear to have been drawn from VPRS 8186 Electoral Statistics.

For each Legislative Council Electoral Province and Legislative Assembly Electoral District the reports provide voting statistics for each subdivision and polling place as follows: Total Electors Enrolled (for Subdivision only); Number of First Preference Votes Polled for Each Candidate; Informal Votes; and Total Votes Polled. At the Province and District level the statistics recorded Votes by post; Votes by Unenrolled Voters and Absent Votes. This is followed by a table displaying the Preferential Count of Votes, where applied, and the Final Count for the province or district.
