This series consists of a volume which records summary information on the admission and discharge of residents classed as Special Non-Certified (SNC) at Janefield Colony and Janefield Training Centre (VA 2847) . This term was used for residents not admitted under the provisions of the Lunacy Act.

The Admission and Discharge Register of Special Non-Certified Residents details the following information:

- Date of Reception
- Name in Full
- Gender
- Age
- Date of Birth
- Authority under which admitted (Private, or Children's Welfare Department (CWD))/Occupation
- Date and Type of Discharge (Own Request, Departmental Authority, On Certification)
- Remarks (this column was used mainly for details of Birthplace and Religion).

Most of those admitted were children or youths.
