This series comprises of Employee History Cards which are a summary record documenting the employment details of all employees at Heatherton Hospital (VA 5081) for the period covered by the cards.The cards include the employee's name, date of birth, address (sometimes), position held, commencement date, date of separation, employment number, and salary details. Cards may include the reason why the employee finished at Heatherton Hospital. The biggest sequence of cards has provision for leave details but the cards were not used for this purpose.
There are several sequences of cards in this series. Further research is required to ascertain why this is so. The various sequences of cards are arranged in alphabetical order by surname of employee.
Researchers should note that a review of this series at the time of transfer determined that the employee listings in this series is incomplete. The agency responsible for these records and Public Record Office Victoria have been unable to determine why this is the case. Employees who have been included in either Government Gazettes or Record Cards of Public Servants (VPRS 9889) do not always appear on the employee list in this series. If you are unable to find an employee who worked at this institution you may wish to refer to Record Cards of Public Servants (VPRS 9889) or Government Gazettes.
