Full description

The indexes were produced by adoption agencies to provide a record of adoptions arranged through the agencies. The indexes were received by the Social Welfare Department (VA 946) from the adoption agencies.

Unit 1 contains Church of Christ Adoption Agency indexes. One is an index (A-Z) by birth mother's name for babies born during the late 1960s through the early 1970s.

The second index (A-L) is by baby's birth name for babies born during the late 1960s through the early 1970s.

A third index is by birth mother's name for surnames beginning with the letter W for births during the late 1960s through the early 1970s.

Unit 2 contains Church of Christ Adoption Agency indexes. They are indexed by birth mother and adoptive parents. One is for surnames beginning A-G and the other for surnames beginning H-R.
