The index's function is to access contracts managed by the Shire. The index provides alphabetical access to contract numbers. The index includes the year in which the particular contracts were let. Most of the alphabetical entries are the names of roads. The index provides a description of the contract. It does not include the names of contractors. The related registers are held as VPRS 17445 (Shire contracts) and VPRS 17446 (Country Roads Board contracts).
