This series comprises records of evidence collected, working documents, and draft chapters for the report compiled by the Chairman of the Board for the Board of Inquiry into Allegations Against Members of the Police Force (Beach Inquiry) (VA4391).

The Inquiry was set up to inquire and report on matters concerning the Victorian Police Force regarding allegations of corruption and misconduct.

Barry Watson Beach was appointed as chairman of the Board on the 18 March 1975. The proceedings of the Board Inquiry commenced on the 26 March 1975 and concluded on the 28 June 1976.

In 1978 Barry Beach started on the Supreme Court of Victoria (VA2549), he retired in 2003.

The series contains Beachs own papers and notes from the inquiry including most of the draft chapters corrected in his own hand.
