Full description
This series was created to register autopsies carried out by the Pathology Department of the Royal Women's Hospital. They record the deceased person's name, date of death, age, live or still birth in the case of babies, and if burial was arranged privately or by the Hospital. Private burial patients are written up in red ink. Patient "UR" numbers are included from April 1980.
Many of the bodies were transferred from other hospitals for autopsy and/or burial.
Autopsies were not always carried out and there are instances where only sections have been received for analysis.
There are no known Death Registers held by the hospital.
