The series consists of index cards that detail all the steps involved in the process of acquiring a liquor licence for hotels. The index cards also document any changes to a liquor licence, such as an application to transfer of licence, application to change licensee and estimated profits or loss etc. changing. All of which are documented on the index card in the precis section.

The information on the index cards consist of the name and location(suburb) of the hotel, date, precis (discussed above) and file number. The file number is a reference to a Licence Case file found in VPRS 7712. The files document the granting and operation of liquor licences for fully licensed premises.
