VPRS 17081 Record of Outward Letters

Full description

This series contains a record of outward letters. It details the date the letters were sent, recipient details [name of individual or organisation], subject matter, and a code for Water [W] and Sewerage [S], date of the letter and the file reference number indicating which file the letter was attached to.

Up until 1985 it was maintained by the Water and Sewerage Office which was a Secretariat that represented the Morwell Waterworks Trust (VA 4127) Morwell Sewerage Authority (VA 4093) and the Churchill Sewerage Authority (VA 2122). The office was located at 136 Commercial Road, Morwell. From 1985 it was maintained by the Morwell Water Board (VA 2241)

The files this record book provides access to appear to no longer exist. It is unclear what happened to these files. They were part of an alpha/numeric recordkeeping system (eg. R3:10). The alpha prefix appears to indicate subject matter, for example S for subdivision; T for taxation or it may also refer to name of recipient, for example S for State Electricity Commission Victoria (SECV). The recordkeeping system of the files is subject to further research.
