VPRS 17026 Court of Petty Sessions Gold Buyers Register

Full description

Under the Gold Buyers Act 1901 a register of judgments on applications was to be maintained by the Clerk of Court of Petty Sessions. Information contained in the register included:

- date of the hearing,
- name, occupation and address of the applicant,
- particulars of the application including the nature (new or for a renewal of a licence), the district in which the licence was available and the situation of the tenement where the licence would be exercised,
- details of the dates of publication of statutory notices,
- name, residence, occupation and municipality of ratepayers certifying the character of the applicant,
- police officer certifying the applicant, the justice ruling on the application, the decision and any remarks.

The P0 consignment of this series was originally registered as VPRS 289/P0, unit 139.
