This is a series of Level Control Books for St Arnaud Sewerage Authority (VA 2031). It is unclear what the relationship of this series is to the series of Level Books located in VPRS 16980. Further research is required on the relationship.

Survey books are used by surveyors in the field to survey allotments (Field Books) and water levels / tables (Level Books). Each page contains drawings, plots and/or annotations showing angles and distances from guide points and (in some cases) the outline and details of subdivisions and constructions thereon.

Information from survey books is used to draw up plans to plot water, sewerage and drainage works.

Familiarity with survey techniques is necessary to make full use of these records.
