VPRS 16914 Cases for Discussion at Clinico-Pathological Society / Conference Meetings

The records in this series take the form of a memorandum advising of the time and location of the next meeting of the Clinico-Pathological Society / Conference, with summaries of cases for discussion attached. Meetings were held on a monthly basis in a lecture theatre at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH). The cases discussed involved patients for which an autopsy had been performed.

The case summary includes:
- Patient name, age, and date of birth
- Ward
- Name of doctor
- Case history (symptoms, treatment and so forth)
- Autopsy result
- Date of autopsy
- Diagnosis

The society changed its name to the Clinico-Pathological Conference around December 1963. There is no attached memorandum after this time.

There are gaps in the records: 1954 to 1955 (3 month gap), 1957 to 1958 (2 month gap) and 1965 to 1966 (3 month gap). Meetings may not have been held or the records may be missing from this series - this is subject to further research.

The operation of the Society / Conference pre and post the date range of this series is subject to further research.

Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2002/003.
