Issues were numbered but were not given a volume number until volume 3 (1978). Numbers 1 to 8 of volume 5 have been incorrectly printed as volume 4.The majority of bulletins for 1993 and 1994 are missing.The item Postgraduate Fortnight is a program of a congress which occurred from the 9th to 20th October 1995.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. The Postgraduate Bulletin included news on coming events including lunchtime and departmental weekly meetings, Grand Rounds lectures, Paediatric research seminars, Registrars training program, case studies in various specialties, a 'problem of the week' section from 1979 (with prizes for the doctor with the highest number of correct diagnosis), ward rounds, overseas visitors, Felton Bequest and Syme Memorial lectures.

The bulletins were initially published by the Dean's Office, a part of the teaching faculty at the Royal Children's Hospital, and then later by the Postgraduate Education Office.
