In 1997 the Research Foundation changed its name to Research Institute, and in 2000 the Research Institute merged with the Murdoch Institute to form the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.Also included in this series is the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of Royal Children's Hospital Research Foundation 1960, and a printed copy of the address given by Ian Wood M.D. to the 1972 Annual General Meeting of the Research Foundation regarding the closure of the Frankston Orthopaedic Hospital.This series contains annual reports to 1999; subsequent annual reports remain in the custody of RCH. At time of writing, 2013, reports for the period 2003 - 2012 are available online at (accessed 30/5/2013).Further records relating to the Research Foundation at RCH can be found in VPRS 16877 Correspondence Files of the RCH Research Foundation.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. In 1957 the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) began producing a yearly collection of reports on research activity in paediatrics. In 1960 this publication evolved into the Annual Report of the Research Foundation. The Research Foundation was established in 1960 after a decision taken two years earlier by the Committee of Management of the Hospital. The Research Foundation was responsible for developing and promoting research, recruiting and training research workers, and teaching within the RCH. In 1997 the Research Foundation changed its name to Research Institute, and in 2000 the Research Institute merged with the Murdoch Institute to form the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
