This series consists of the Manager and Secretary / Chief Executive Officer's General Correspondence. J. Cunningham was the Manager and Secretary from 1940 to 1977. This position became the Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 1977.This collection comprises the existing records found in former nurses' accommodation in the Services Block.Some of the single category files with temporary records e.g. which held newsletters and bulletins from external organisations have been culled. Other files with the extant copy of Board Sub - Committee Minutes were removed from this sequence to a record series of their own, (now located in VPRS 17428). The remaining subject files reflect the changes in both the hospital's administration as well as its interaction with professional bodies, government departments and the Carlton community.
Series History
Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Women's Hospital (RWH) Archives. They were part of RWH Series number 0771.
