Full description

The Department of Agriculture intensified motion picture film production since the advent of country television in 1962.

In addition to the production of feature films which was maintained at about eight films totalling some 100 minutes a year, the Department also produced some special film clips for television. The Department film unit prepared more than 80 film clips for television in the year 1962.

The Department also produced 16 mm and 35 mm colour sound film for other Government Departments.

This series comprises films created/collected by the film unit of the Department of Agriculture.

The P1 consignment of this series contains films (produced by the Department) that were used on weekly TV rural reports. They were mainly to do with the Department's extension activities.
