Full description

This series consists of the board meeting minutes of the Dental Board of Victoria (VA 1343) from 1888 to 2000. They appear to be a complete and comprehensive record of meetings from this period.

The first meeting was held 4th February 1888, followed by a special meeting on 7th February to appoint a Registrar. The minutes document the meeting proceedings, which include correspondence and business arising, reports of committees, payment of accounts, ordinary business and special business.

The early board minutes were handwritten, and some reports and correspondence were copied into the minute book. From April 1907, minutes were typed and pasted into the books.

There was a change in recordkeeping with the comencement of the Dental Practice Board of Victoria in June 2000. Minutes, agendas and associated papers were kept in chronological order in files. The minute files date from June 2000 to August 2008. The following dates are missing:

February 2004, May 2004, September 2004 and August 2007.
