This series contains records relating to property and planning, and includes records from the different agencies who have had responsibilities for Falls Creek area. Some consignments contain unregistered records and others, although incomplete, show evidence of a recordkeeping system.P0001- Land Management; Falls Creek Tourist Area Management Committee and Falls Creek Resort Management
Contains minutes and papers of the Falls Creek Tourist Area Management Planning Sub-Committee from 1978 to 1984 and papers of the Planning and Land Management Committee (PLM) from December 2001 through to late 2002. Note, this is not a complete set. Only meetings numbered 32 to 39 are currently held.
P0002 - Resort Development Policy; Alpine Resorts Commission
Contains records relating to policy development, including drafts of the Alpine Resort Planning Scheme and Falls Creek Comprehensive Development Plan, comments on new planning controls [? 1997], correspondence, plans and drawings.
P0003 - Acquisition of Property; State Electricity Commission and Alpine Resorts Commission
Contains leases, transfer of lease documents, covenants and guarantees, deeds and mortgage of lease documents. Many of the records are filed in Site folders and show the history of leases over time. The earlier records (dating from 1964) were created by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria.
P0004 - Planning Applications, State Electricity Commission and Alpine Resorts Commission, from 1960 to 2001
Contains planning applications arranged in files by Site, with contents including State Electricity Commission planning files dating from 1961. Also includes site meeting minutes, progress reports, certificates of completion, correspondence with external parties (e.g. architects, Country Fire Authority, consultants) and general correspondence regarding planning applications and the issuing of permits.
P0005 - Planning Applications, from 1985 to 1988, Alpine Resort Commission
This sequence of files has numbers that appear to be a two number system with a year prefix (e.g., 86/10-0002). The two digit prefix number is most likely the year the file was created. The majority of the files have the prefix of 86, 87 or 88 and there are two files with an 85 prefix. The second number, i.e.10, is consistent through all of the files, and is likely to be a reference to the subject 'Planning Applications'. The third number would be a sequential single number. This information is subject to further clarification.
The content of this series dates to 1990. Early in 1988 a new single number system was introduced (VPRS 12952). This series also contains planning applications. The two systems may have operated simultaneously for several years.
P0006 - Planning Applications - State Electricity Commission
Contains site files with architectural and survey plans. Also contains early minutes and documents that outline the inception of the Falls Creek Tourist Area Management Committee in 1959 information dating back to the Kiewa Hydro Electric works in 1953.
