Full description

The first meeting of the Education and Standards Committee was held on 10 February 1999. The committee was formed to address the following needs:

* The existing structure did not obtain the best result in relation to the interest of the Board relative to the operation of the Joint Education Committee of Victorian and New South Wales Registration Boards (JEC).

* A major revision of discipline-specific accreditation documents was underway and the input of a Board was considered necessary. Generally it was not deemed appropriate to leave total judgement of outcomes to JEC.

* NSW had an Education Board that coexisted successfully with the JEC.
