The Midwives Board was the governing body appointed under the Midwives Act 1915 (No. 2773). These records are the minutes and papers of the meetings of the Board. Contents includes operational and financial business. With the passing of the Midwives Act 1928 (No. 3587), the registration of midwives was transferred to the Nurses Board (VA 3144). The volume containing minutes from the period 1916-1920 are held in VPRS 8834, P0002, Box 14,
