This series comprises an index to the Historic Mine and Infrastructure Plans (VPRS 16163) of the Geological Survey of Victoria (VA 4118), enabling them to be located by Parish name. The plans are evidence of activities or evidence acquired from external workers in the geological, minerals, extractive, petroleum and other associated sectors.

Basic information gathered from the plans including plan content, author, scale and year of production were recorded in a card index system, in this case arranged alphabetically by parish name.
