The verdict book is a summary of the actual hearings in the County Court common law jurisdiction. The verdict book is a separate record from the register.The register includes all cases registered for hearing. The Verdict Book contains a summary of all the cases that went to a court hearing. It does not include cases that were struck out or cases settled prior to a court heraring. Such cases appear in the register only.
Decisions from County Court common law hearings were recorded in the verdict book. Other information included the name of the Judge, case number, name of plaintiff, defendant, amount of claim, payment into court, date of trial and costs.
