This water damaged book is a record of the Electoral District of the Town of Geelong Barwon Ward. It contains a list of electors who voted in the election of a Member to serve in the Legislative Council of Victoria to fill vacancies.

Information recorded includes the names of the polling places and dates when the polling was conducted. It includes the names of the electors and for whom they voted. Total votes received for each candidate are recorded.

Each elector is given a sequential number at each election. Their names are recorded, together with their vote, next to the number. It is probable that the numbers were issued in the order in which each elector voted.

Elections recorded in this book were conducted betweeen 13 September 1851 and 22 June 1854.
