Full description
This series consists of a register listing names and dates. A loose paper identifies the register as belonging to the Discharged Soldiers Qualification Committee. It is most llikely that it lists the program for dealing with applications to the Committee. This Committee was appointed by the Minister of Lands to consider the suitability of applicants for land under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act 1917. Applicants were required to provide proof to the Committee with respect to their farming experience and qualifications. Many who gained qualification certificates either did not utilise at all or did not utilise them until after the cut-off point of the issue of new certificates in 1922.
