This series gives details of file or correspondence movements. Details given are the correspondence or file number, the name, the place and where the file was sent. The files were most often to the Correspondence Branch, the Occupation Branch or the Surveyor-General.

Registers in the P2 consignment are for Foreign matters (ie correspondence from other Departments) from Beechworth and Bairnsdale and with two volumes possibly coming from the former Central Plan Room.

Further research into the recordkeeping system is required.
