Under the Mines Act, miner's rights could be issued for a statutory fee for up to 15 years. Holders, whether individuals or companies, could then stake claims to mine for gold with certain other privileges such as the right of residence being conferred on the holders of the miner's right.This series records the issuing of miner's rights by the Mining Registrar at Rushworth. Details given are the number of the document, the name of the recipient and the date of issue.
This series was previously registered as Units 3, 4 and 5 of VPRS 704/P Registers [Rushworth District Land Office].
