This series consists of monthly and six-monthly returns forwarded from District Land Offices to the Department of Crown Lands and Survey in Melbourne (VA 538). Details are given of the officers employed at the District Land Office, their salaries and duties. Comprehensive details are given of the business transacted by the Office in the reporting period. These statistical details were recorded under Sections of the Land Acts or other relevant activity headings. Space was also provided for comments from the District Land Officer in relation to the activities and business of the District Land Office.

This series was previously contained in Unit 17 of VPRS 871/P Return of Selections Made at Various Land Offices.
