In 1973, there is an additional section, Location, which is an alphabetical index by street name.Note: Most of these records were originally attached with string between soft cardboard covers, with each of these volumes containing one or more indexes. During processing of the records for transfer to the Public Record Office Victoria [PROV], the pages were removed from their original covers and filed in acid free folders. Full description

This series can be used to find information on particular subjects in Council minutes. Separate indexes are only available for some years. In addition, some minute books contain their own indexes to names and/or subjects mentioned in the minutes.

The records in this series are arranged in files by year. Within each year, the index is arranged generally alphabetically by subject, and includes references to the file numbers corresponding to each subject. Under each main alphabetical heading there are various sub-headings. The specific entries under each sub-heading are mostly chronological, in the order they would be found in the minutes. Each entry comprises a brief description and the relevant page number in the minutes.

From 1964, the index is divided into sections according to the type of business or the council department dealing with an issue, eg.
