This series consists of volumes of outward correspondence created by Alberton Water Board (VA 2223) and its successor, the South Gippsland Region Water Authority (VA 4239). Retention of copies of outward correspondence despatched from the office allows for future reference. Correspondence contained in this series covered all functions of the Water Board and Water Authority.

Alberton Water Board assumed responsibility over the functions and regions formerly covered by Alberton and Port Albert Waterworks Trust (VA 4721), Yarram Waterworks Trust (VA 4727), and Yarram Sewerage Authority (VA 4728) in 1984. Series created by these agencies may contain correspondence relating to functions covered by Alberton Water Board for the period prior to 1984. Series include VPRS 14790 Outward correspondence and 14791 Outward Correspondence.
