Full description
This series consists of letter books created by the Shire of Diamond Valley (VA 717) as a means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference.Letter books were referred to as a means of ensuring accountability by providing proof of the wording and subject matter of outwards correspondence, and as a means of providing precedence for future decision making. Outward correspondence was sometimes added to Subject Files to provide context for letters received.
