Full description

Section 455, Part XVI of the Local Government Act 1915 allowed municipal councils to enter into contarcts for the purpose of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contarcts to be in writing.

The registers record details in summary form of contracts entered into by Council. Information contained in the registers includes:
* description of the contract

* name and address of the contarctor
* date of commencement of the contract
* amount of the contarct.
