The records in this series were transferred with several series of photographs from the Education History Unit (EHU) of the Department of Education and Training. They appear to be reference, administration and procedure files used to maintain their various photographic collections, consisting of more than thirty thousand images.

It includes information on creating databases, conservation and storage, Loans / Inquiries and procedures for filing photographs. There are also some lists of images used in exhibitions.

Included is the Australian Thesaurus of Education Descriptors, which appears to have been used to generate descriptors for VPRS 14514 Photographs, Negatives and Slides [Education History Unit].
