VPRS 14515 File Prints of Photographs [Publications Branch]

Full description

The photographs in this series were accumulated by the Publications Unit of the Department of Education and Training. They depict schools, school students, teachers, maps, educational activities and other education-related subject-matter.

Most of the photographs have FILE printed in the centre of the image, and the number handwritten in the corner. (VPRS 14517 Negatives of Photographs [Publications Branch] can be used to make copies not including the FILE label. Note that a useable negative may not exist for each file photograph, and vice-versa.)

Information included on the back of the photograph may include an alpha-numeric identifier (ie D25), one or more handwritten or typewritten descriptions and a date. It is unclear whether the date refers to when the photograph was taken, labeled, filed etc.

The method used to index these photographs is subject to further research.
