The Gippsland Water Utilization Committee was formed in 1960 as a result of concern expressed by the Greater Gippsland Development League that Gippsland's water resources needed careful investigation to safeguard Gippsland's interests.The Committee's involement in the Melbourne and Metropolitan Water Supply Inquiry from 1962 until 1967 and its resultant findings were accepted by the Victorian Parliament.

This series of minutes of meeting of the Committee documented the activities of the Committee.
