Full description

The Denominational Schools Board was established in 1848 and was responsible for the distribution of funds to denominational schools from an annual Parliamentary grant and a proportion of the Church and Schools Estates revenue.

This series consists of copies of the outward correspondence of the Normal Inspector of Schools (R H Budd). Matters dealt with are such things as the promotion and appointment of teachers, arrangements for the conduct of teacher examinations and the results of those examinations (see VPRS 887 Reports of Examinations) and arrangements for and reports on the inspection of schools.

Noted in the margin beside letters is the inwards registered number (see VPRS 60 Registers of Inward Correspondence) of any piece of correspondence to which this one is the reply.

This series was previously registered as Units 2 and 7 of VPRS 62 Outwards Letter Books. It was re-processed in 2004.
