This series consists of the master set of examination papers from Swinburne's Higher Education division, VA 1192 Swinburne Institute of Technology and VA 4669 Swinburne University of Technology.

Examinations were held at the end of each semester to assess the competency of students in particular subjects.

Subject codes consisted of an alpha-numerical number based on the faculty code followed by a three to four digit number to specify the subject (for example, BS 103 -Accounting 1A). Faculty codes included the following: BS (Business), EA (Chemical Engineering), EC (Civil Engineering), EE (Electrical Engineering), EM (Mechanical Engineering), MT (Materials Technology), GS (Arts), AR (Arts), SC (Applied Science), SM (Mathematics), and SP (Physics). Faculty codes alter in accordance with internal faculty changes. Subject codes are uniquely associated with a particular subject.
