VPRS 14021 Examination Results, TAFE Division

Full description

This series consists of Examination Results for Swinburne's TAFE Division, VA 4668 Swinburne College of TAFE. Prior to 1975, the TAFE Division was combined with the Higher Education division (VA 1192) as VA 1217 Swinburne Technical College.

Examinations were held each semester. The examination papers used for the various examinations are located in VPRS 14117 Examination Papers [TAFE Division].

Results may be in the form of a percentage mark, or a letter grade, or both. Final Exam Results and Final Assessment Results may be located within this series. Letter grades include W (Withheld?), SC (Satisfactory Class Completion), NSC (No Satisfactory Class Completion), CIP (Competency in Progress), CSSP (Commenced Study, Stopped Participating), NCS (Never Commenced Study), CM (Competent - No Higher Grade Available), NYC (Not Yet Competent), RC (Recertified Competent), NFA (Not Formally Assessed), HD (High Distinction), D (Distinction), C (Credit), P (Pass), N (Fail), DEF (Deferred), CON (Continuing), GCM (Competent - With Percentage Mark), GNYC (Not Yet Competent - No Percentage Mark Shown), CX (Completed - Externally Assessed), NX (Not Completed - Externally Assessed), as well as letter grades from A through to F (depending on the subject involved).

Information recorded in the Examination Results includes the name of the candidate, the subject code, the course code, the examination number, the result, and if the result was amended, the new result, the initials of the person who altered it, and the date it was altered.

Result Amendment notices, memos, and special exam notifications were also included where necessary. These indicated the reason for a change of mark, the date of the change of the mark, and provided in most cases the name or names of persons whose authorisation was needed for the alteration to occur.
