VPRS 14020 Examination Results, Higher Education Division

Full description

This series consists of the Examination Results for Swinburne's Higher Education division, VA 1192 Swinburne Institute of Technology. Prior to 1975, the Higher Education division was combined with the TAFE division (VA 4668) as VA 1217 Swinburne Technical College.

Examinations were held each semester. The examination papers used for the various examinations are located in VPRS 14116 - Examination Papers [Higher Education]. Examination results prior to 1975 are located in VPRS 14019 Examination Results.

Results may be in the form of a percentage mark, or a letter grade, or both. Final Exam Results and Final Assessment Results may be located within this series. Letter grades include HD (High Distinction), D (Distinction), C (Credit), P (Pass), FP (Fail Pass), CP (Conceded pass), COMP (Completed), N (Not Pass), DEF (Deferred), EXM (Exempt), CON (Continuing) CONT (Continuing), SPX (Special Exam), NWD (Not Pass, Withdrawn), NA (No Attempt), WDFP (Withdrawn, Fee payable), NLWD (Not Pass/Late Withdrawal), SP (Passed Supplementary Assessment), SN (Failed Supplementary Assessment).

Information recorded in the Examination Results includes the name of the candidate, the subject code, the course code, the examination number, the result, and if the result was amended, the new result, the initials of the person who altered it, and the date it was altered.

Result Amendment notices, memos, and special exam notifications were also included where necessary. These indicated the reason for a change of mark, the date of the change of the mark, and provided in most cases the name or names of persons whose authorisation was needed for the alteration to occur.
