Full description

These cards were created to maintain an index to all licensed estate agents in Victoria and to summarise individual license details and renewal dates for each estate agent.

The cards were used to record the agent's surname and Christian names, the agent's principal place of business, the date and year of approval, the name of a Surety, the court where the licence was issued and the subsequent yearly renewal dates for the licence.

The cards also indicate the date a particular licence expired, and details pertaining to the transfer of a licence to another business address and the transfer of the licence to another licensed estate agent.

Some cards also contain a six digit number, as at August 2001 it is not known what this number is for, but it is possible that it was used for licences still current when the Estate Agents Board introduced a computerised registration database (which replaced this system) in 1981.
