The role of the Crown Solicitor is to provide legal advice to Executive Government, Ministers of the Crown, Government Departments and Instrumentalities. When the advice sough involves counsel then the Crown Solicitor has to refer the matter to a Queen's Counsel.This series generally consists of the Crown Solicitor's covering letter to the body seeking the advice and a copy of the counsel opinion.
