Full description

Writs of Dedimus Potestatum empower the person to whom it is directed to administer the oath of allegiance and to administer a judicial oath to a person newly appointed as a Justice of the peace.

This series consists of documents recording the fees payable, presumably by the newly sworn Justice of the Peace and the actual payment of the fee for the administration of the Oath of Office. The document gives the date of swearing and the name of the Judge before whom the Oath was sworn.

VPRS 12691/P1 was previously registered as VPRS 470/P unit 4. It was reserialised in 20001 as part of the ARAD Project.
