This series consists of the minutes of the Corporate Group of the Public Transport Corporation's (PTC) meetings. Minutes were created to record the general administrative activities of the Corporate Group discussed at meetings, any decisions on general matters, correspondence received, tenders authorised, appointments, various reports, and budget and expenditure information. Discussion papers, business reports and relevant copies of correspondence were attached to the minutes from time to time.The Corporate Group consisted of the Directors of all services divisions within the PTC. These included Passenger Services, Freight Services, Information Technology, Technical Services, Corporate Development, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Resource Management, Finance Services and Marketing.
The Public Transport Corporation (PTC) was established in accordance with section 13 of the Transport (Amendment) Act 1989 (No. 44 of 1989), which came into operation on 1 July 1989. The first PTC Corporate Group meeting was held on 19 December 1989, however, meetings of the State Transport Authority Corporate Group (STA) were conducted between July and November 1989.
